All the great football (English Football) teams have fight songs, and their fans are known to sing them (drunkenly, poorly, or both) at the slightest provocation. In the stands, in the tube, at work, etc. My thinking? Why don't WE have a fight song, too? And so, last night, I composed a fight song for the Liberty. The tune? I have no clue. Maybe someone out there has an idea. Here it is...
LIBERTY, LIVE ON
From the Gardens, all around
Let your voices loudly sound
Every town must pay its toll
New York's team is in control
Dribble, pass it, shoot and score
Arms up high and holler more!
Over ten years playing now
We've shown everybody how
Lots of seasons yet to come
We'll show all just how it's done
Those from (Location)* know the name
Of those who do rock the game
All sing, now, for whom we cry
L-I-B-E-R-T-Y
* At this point, everybody singing shouts out their own Borrough, County, or place of residence in the Metro-area from which they come
